The Pretty Girls in Prague
It's a true story, honest.
In the September of 2004, Chris and Jamie from The NovaSouls visited Prague with their good friends Billy and Redbond. The song The Pretty Girls in Prague is a summary of what they got up to.
We went to Prague because it's a beautiful city and the beer is cheap. Not necessarily in that order of importance, but that's not the point. We went, and when we arrived, we went to get some money out to start drinking that cheap booze. I remember us discussing that "a hundred quid should be sufficient". Little did we know.
Being the culture vultures that we are, we tucked into a Big Mac to line the stomach. We then set off over the main bridge to get ourselves a beer. Or two.
Fast forward eight hours and we're sitting in the corner of a rather impressive strip bar somewhere in the old town. A young lady comes up to a rather intoxicated Chris and asks he cares to go somewhere more private. Chris explains that he is the reincarnation of John Lennon ; a lover, not in it for the sex. Billy happily gets his card out to satisfy the young lady's need to entertain / to earn.
The following night, suffering sleep deprivation and hangovers, we retired back to the apartment to watch Rocky IV in "praguenese" as we coined it. A couple of bottle of cheap wine later, Chris and Jamie were happily tucked up in bed.
Good times were had by all. And when Billy did receive his statement through from Barclaycard, we got to reminisce about the whole weekend once again.
